These five cross-border e-commerce logistics models are definitely worth considering for novice sellers! When the store receives an order, the first consideration is to choose a suitable logistics method to send the goods overseas. What are the common cross-border e-commerce logistics currently available? How should sellers choose? Today, the editor has collected and organized the following 5 logistics modes for your reference!

1. Postal package mode

International postal parcels refer to the use of the international postal system to facilitate the import and export of goods, and are shipped in the form of personal parcels. Currently, 70% of China's cross-border logistics is sent through postal parcels in international postal parcels, with China Post accounting for 50%.

Postal logistics includes China Post small packages, China Post large packages, Hong Kong Post small packages EMS、 International ePacket, Singapore Packet, Swiss Post Packet, etc. Among them, postal parcels, international ePacket, and EMS are the most commonly used.

The postal parcel network has a high coverage rate, wide logistics channels, and relatively cheap prices, but the disadvantage is that the delivery speed is slow and the loss rate is high.

2. International express delivery mode

The four common international express delivery companies are DHL, TNT, FEDEX, and UPS.

This logistics model relies on a unified information platform operation, and its main features are: guaranteed timeliness, convenient for consumers to query real-time logistics information, low packet loss rate, but counterfeit, battery containing, and special products cannot be delivered. Of course, high-quality service comes with expensive prices.

(1) International air freight dedicated line refers to a specialized route from China to a certain country, which is a door-to-door transportation service that includes delivery and taxes. In addition to high costs, it is a more suitable stocking method for fast sales and replenishment.

(2) Sea freight dedicated line is a low-cost, long-term, and suitable transportation method for large volume cross-border logistics.

(3) The railway dedicated line is mainly aimed at cross-border trade between China and Europe, with prices better than international air freight dedicated lines, and is severely restricted by transportation regions.

3. Domestic express delivery mode

Domestic express delivery mainly refers to EMS, SF Express, and "Four Connections and One Delivery". In terms of cross-border logistics, "Four Connections and One Delivery" China Shentong Yuantong laid out earlier, while Zhongtong, Huitong, and Yunda have just started to launch cross-border logistics business. SF Express's international business needs to be more mature. Currently, it has opened express delivery services to countries such as the United States, Australia, South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. Express shipments to Asian countries can generally be delivered within 2-3 days.

Among domestic express delivery services, EMS has the most comprehensive international business. Relying on postal channels, EMS can directly reach more than 60 countries around the world, with relatively lower costs compared to the four major express delivery giants. It has strong customs clearance capabilities within China, taking 2-3 days to reach Asian countries and 5-7 days to reach Europe and America.

4. Dedicated line logistics mode

Cross border specialized logistics is generally transported to foreign countries by air freight, and then cleared and delivered to the destination country through local cooperative companies. It mainly concentrates the shipment of large quantities of products to a certain country or region, reduces costs through economies of scale, and has fast delivery time. It is more suitable for small and medium-sized cross-border sellers with weak risk resistance capabilities.

Advantages: Developing delivery countries and regions with high timeliness, high cost-effectiveness, and providing logistics information throughout the entire process.

Disadvantage: Limited delivery country and limited delivery range.

Suitable for shipping products: concentrate on shipping products from a certain country or region, FBA/overseas warehouse stocking.

5. Overseas warehousing mode

The overseas warehouse model is that cross-border e-commerce sellers first prepare goods in advance and deliver them to the logistics warehouse in the destination country. After the customer places an order on the seller's e-commerce website or third-party store, the goods are directly shipped from the overseas warehouse to the customer. This can improve logistics efficiency and provide customers with a high-quality logistics experience. However, sellers usually only choose hot selling products for overseas warehouse stocking.
