The proportion of truck transportation in the transportation industry has been steadily increasing. Compared with the importance of other modes of transportation in intercity transportation, trucks have the highest proportion of transportation within cities.
Trucks have great flexibility in scheduling transportation routes and can deliver goods door-to-door. Shippers do not have to transfer items from trucks to trains and then unload them onto trucks, saving time and avoiding theft or damage to items. For the short distance transportation of high-value goods, trucks are an effective mode of transportation. In many cases, truck transportation has stronger transport capacity compared to railway transportation, and the services provided are generally faster.
